Team Fortress 2 TF2 is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It is distributed online through Valve's digital retailer Steam , with retail distribution being handled by Electronic Arts. In Team Fortress 2 , players join one of two teams comprising nine character classes , battling in a variety of game modes including capture the flag and king of the hill. Announced in , the game once had more realistic, militaristic visuals and gameplay, but this changed over the protracted nine-year development. Team Fortress 2 just received a big update that focuses on improving matchmaking, both for casual as well as competitive. One of the biggest criticisms against Team Fortress 2 in recent years, especially after the arrival of games like Overwatch, is that its matchmaking is a mess. Valve is tackling this in a big way with this patch. The update brings significant changes to both casual and competitive modes that will hopefully modernise an archaic aspect of Team Fortress 2.

At first glance, Team Fortress 2 has a lot of the things that make a successful competitive game. Tons of people play it, consistently making it one of the top games on Steam going on a decade. All of these factors have made Team Fortress 2 the best competitive shooter that nobody cares about.
Valve's popular free-to-play shooter Team Fortress 2 has received a surprise update. While the patch doesn't seem to include any new content, like Jungle Inferno did , this new update does include a bevy of changes to competitive mode as well as balance changes to weapons.
